What do you look for when you go shop for handbags?
I’m doing a research in what women usually want when they look for handbags in terms of style and usage.
If you could, please describe what do you usually put in handbags, the size and what you always want but you can’t seem to find when you go look for them

I want something that is big enough to suit my purpose, but not huge and ridiculous looking. As for style, I pick a neutral color that will go with a multitude of outfits. I usually don’t care for gaudy buckles or metallic stuff, but I can appreciate intricate stitching and unique shapes.

i usually go for the style and what’s “in”. I like my handbag to be simple but elegant. i like the color black as it fits most of my clothes and black is fashionable. the size should be right, not too small and not too big.
well if i see a handbag i like i buy it no matter how much it costs.
and i dont buy second hand bags i like new bags.
Well, I look for a handbag that is fairly lightweight because I have bad shoulders and find it difficult to use a large heavy bag.
I look for a bag that has lots of compartments so I can find things quickly. I really like a bag that has cell phone and eyeglass compartments that are easy to get to. I like adjustable handles so I can make it whatever length I need. I am very tall and lots of bags have handles that are too short for me.
I only buy leather bags because they last longer, and unlike the poster above, I do NOT buy a bag I like if it is too expensive. Since I am not someone overly concerned with fashion trends, I get fairly simple bags in neutral colors. And I will not spend more then $100 on a purse.
I for one look for size, and function. I want it to have enough pockets to hold everything I carry. Wallet/clutch (the hobo one) sunglasses, keys, water bottle (not necessary but nice) Cell phone, Pens, Small pad of paper, face powder, and lip gloss. I also like to have a separate pocket big enough to put my clutch in away from everything else that no one could “accidently see”…I know its odd, but thats what I like. I also prefer a zipper to close everything. Ive found that with just a snap, if you hit the brakes in the car your purse will dump over.
